About 7.5% of South Africans live with a disability. Our unemployment rate is estimated to be 27%, almost four times higher than the global average, but the unemployment rate among people with disabilities is considerably higher. However, most people with a disability are capable of working and of performing as well as those without a disability in many occupations.

Considering South Africa’s skills shortage and the competitive marketplace, employers simply cannot afford to ignore the disabled community. With this in mind, the ICHAF Training Institute strives to empower and upskill members of the disabled community by matching them with prospective employers who are seeking candidates for learnership interventions.
